I think I may have invented a new holiday activity. I call it cranberry sauce carving and it is lots of fun (even though I am not yet good at it.). Basically, you empty a can of cranberry sauce onto a plate and you try to carve it into something. My friend Jeffrey and I had our kids get together and give it a shot. They loved it, and they made a mess, and they loved making a mess. Also, it was inexpensive at about a buck a kid.
I tried my hand at it too. I didn't have a ton of time, as I was working on the
bikini turkey at the time, but here is my effort. It was supposed to be one of those Easter Island type of dealies.
Maybe if I have some free time, I carve something else. I'll wait a little bit and inspiration will strike.
If you carve something and think to take a picture, send it in. Feel free to cheat and use a cookie cutter to make shapes, but cookie cutters aren't very EXTREME!
